Rebecca Wallis, WINNER of NZ Painting and Printmaking Award 2025

We are delighted to congratulate Rebecca Wallis on being selected as the winner of the NZ Painting and Printmaking Award for her painting ‘A Loosening of Order’!

The NZ Painting and Printmaking Awards hosted by Waikato Society of Arts is a prestigious art competition that recognises and celebrates excellence in the fields of painting and printmaking. Finalists are eligible for the $12,000 Main Prize for Printmaking and $12,000 Main Prize for Painting $12,000.

Rebecca Wallis has lived and practiced as a painter between London and Auckland since finishing her first degree in Fine Arts in 1988. Her art practice was cemented in 1995 with a Masters Degree in Visual Arts from Goldsmiths College, London. Wallis’ paintings are held in a number of important national art collections, including the James Wallace Arts Trust and the Walker & Hall collection.⁠
