The inaugural PORT JACKSON PRESS GRADUATE PRINTMAKING AWARD 2008 offers printmaking graduates who have just completed their studies, the professional experience of working in an established studio and exhibiting in a commercial gallery. This award is non-aquisitive and gives students majoring in printmaking who have completed their studies in 2007 at any tertiary institution in Australia, an all expenses paid two-week residency at the PJP Centre for Australian Printmaking. The award recipient will also receive a $2000 cash prize, and the opportunity to have new work published by Port Jackson Press Australia. The published print or prints will be subsequently launched at the gallery and marketed and distributed nationally.

In addition to the major prize there will be a PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD to the value of $550, kindly donated by Melbourne Etching Supplies, Chapman & Bailey, and Magnani Papers Australia.

This prize is to be held at Port Jackson Press Australia’s fantastic new printmaking studio and exhibition space, the PJP Centre for Australian Printmaking, during March 2008.
