Biography

Satirical, political and socially motivated, Gohier’s work comments upon the on the faults and frailties of contemporary society with wry humour. ⁠A practicing artist since 1987 Gohier’s works have been acquired by the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, the Casula Powerhouse Art Centre, Artbank, Gold Coast Art Gallery, Griffith University, as well as numerous regional galleries, and private collections internationally. In 2018 the artist was celebrated with a major solo retrospective at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Darwin. ⁠
