Basil Papoutsidis

Artist Profile

Biography

Through a fanaticism with the behaviours of steel, Papoutsidis explores the sculptural contexts of formalist abstraction. Interested in the cultural references and engineering of automotive culture, this sculptural practice explores the theoretical ideas of design pitted against the realities of construction.

Basil Papoutsidis is a practicing, Melbourne-based artist who previously completed a BFA (Visual Art) at the University of Melbourne (VCA) in 2014.
